Confined Space Regulations

On average, work in confined spaces kills 15 people every year in the UK across a wide range of industries, from those involving complex plant through to simple storage vessels. In addition to these fatalities, many more people are injured.

Those killed or injured are not only the people working in the confined space, but also those who try to rescue them without proper training or equipment.

The Confined Space Regulations 1997 are designed to protect people from the hazards of working in a confined space.
