What are your responsibilities as an employer?

In order to comply with the Confined Space Regulations 1997 you must:

Identify Possible Risks Carry out a suitable and sufficient assessment of risks for all activities for the purpose of deciding what measures are necessary for safety. For working in a confined space this means identifying hazards present, assessing the risks and determining what precautions to take.

This assessment should include the task, working environment, materials and tools, suitability of those undertaking the task and arrangement of emergency rescue.

Guardian Site Solutions can provide fully trained rescue services.

Conduct a Safe System of Work The first duty is to avoid entry into confined spaces, e.g. by doing the work from outside. If entry is unavoidable you must follow a safe system of work and put in place adequate emergency arrangements before work starts and throughout the work.

Guardian Site Solutions supply fully trained confined space monitoring staff.
